African Impressions
An embroidery by Anna Francis

This was created by the use of machine embroidery on dissolvable fabric, with embossed and machined copper foil applied to fabric. The finished embroidery was backed with hand- made paper.

Stef entered some work in an exhibition held at a farm in Devon.
The work had to be inspired by the farm and its environement, so Stef chose a distressed and discoloured barn wall as her
theme.

Below are a series of bags inspired by Stef's work at the 'Art Farm Project' in Devon.
The colours of the first three bags were taken from the colours seen in a barn wall on the farm.

The bags were created from split-down silk carrier rods stitched to a felt background, and embellished. Some of the bags have silk cocoons attached as embellishment, with inserted rolled up carrier rod pieces.
