Silk Carrier Rods are a waste product produced from the reeling process of silk. They do contain natural gum and they can be split down into thinner layers.

hand dyed they can be used in textured embroidery, on the embellishing machine, in making paper fibre and for other textile art.

These are really good  rods, with many layers in each, we are finding it harder to find this quality, so they are in limited supply.
